Remember that while in Boot Camp, the step to format the target IBM volume to NTFS, not Fat32. Boot camp can be a pain in the ass to install, and the drive you dedicate to Boot Camp needs to be in Bay 1 during the install, but you can move it to another bay afterwards. Apparently some of the MBP models have gotten EFI firmware updates lately that make the CPU throttling pretty aggressive. Its forcing the CPU to stay in a higher power/frequency state more often.
Throttlestop let's you force some settings on the CPU. I've been able to make some improvements using Throttlestop and Ati Tray Tools.
